about Dezy

“entertainer, singer, humorist, motivator, playwright, piano man, people magnet, actor”

Creator of the musical comedy, Not the Life I Ordered, Dezy Walls was born in Dublin, Ireland to a musical family who, despite their many talents, believed show business was a slippery slope to ruination.

So cautioned, Dezy dipped his toe in the showbiz water many times before diving in fully clothed at thirty eight years old. He has fans all over Europe, the USA and even many in Australia, where he’s never been.

His years in Kinsale, Co. Cork as the “pianoman’ entertaining tourists (’91 to ’06) was interrupted by five years in The Netherlands as a ‘corporate’ showman. From 2007 to 2014 he’s been in the USA performing in 42 different states and heading to Europe regularly for the bigger events.

Although known for his many “piano-bikes” and his witty award winning songs Dezy’s first love is theatre and, in particular Not the Life I Ordered, which through its ten years of ‘development’ has won deeply committed fans everywhere. Dezy himself is its biggest fan.

Now residing in beautiful Southwest Kerry, he is heading Small Roads festival of Theatre and Dining coming to Kenmare in October 2016, of which Not the Life is one of the four plays being showcased.
